BIG!

Well what a surprise to see you here!

Hey guys, yes I know I haven't blogged a lot lately but I've been busy girl! I went to the Reading Festival which was AMAZING! (Blog post about that will be up soon) I saw Green Day how awesome is that! Anyway I'm side tracking but yes I'm posting again but not as frequent due to it being my last year of A-Levels then hopefully off to Uni I go!

So I went on a slight rampage and bought nearly the whole of Lush this summer, but there was one product that I was just itching to try which was 'Big'. It's a sea salt shampoo that claims to add volume and texture to your hair as well as packing your hair with essential oils. I must admit I was skeptical about this product because of the actual lumps of salt! I honestly thought that the grains of salt were sharp enough to cut my scalp; luckily the woman working there re-assured me that they broke down as soon as there was contact with water and were actually really exfoliating. I have been using this for over a month and for the best part of the time this product has been great but there was some issues I've had with it. Here is a simple list of the pro's and cons of this product! Enjoy!

Pro's

  •  exfoliating
  • natural
  • not animal tested
  • contains essential oils
  • smells great
  • adds texture
  • leaves hair feeling clean for days/ no grease.
Cons
  • Made my hair very knotty
  • didn't really add volume to my hair (my hair is naturally straight but has a slight wave to it and is fine)
  • I found it actually gave me a dry scalp after a while
  • The Price (£11)
So obviously the pro's weigh'd out the cons but the dry scalp was the worst for me. I'd say this is a good shampoo if you plan on going somewhere where you are going to style your hair but if you are just having a lazy weekend there's really no point. Maybe it would be more beneficial to switch to a Lush shampoo bar and a hair mask just to ensure your hair and scalp stays in great condition.

Hope this was informative for some of you whom are eager to try it but wants an honest opinion!

Lush and Mac Haul!

Hey guys, sorry about the infrequent posts recently but I've suffered with writers block!

Alas I've been on retail therapy and have brought back some lovely goodies from Lush!
My skin is unbelievably red and spot prone constantly so I thought I'd give my skin some loving and treat it to some Lush products. Now as you probably know Lush is known for it's natural ingredients and their fight against animal testing so I'm totally up for using their products.

The first product I am going to talk about is the BB Seaweed Face Mask. This product claims to reduce redness and soften the skin. I had a short consultation by one of the workers in the Lush shop and he took me through a wide range of face masks that are suited to my skin. This product is packed with soothing and calming ingredients such as honey, seaweed, aloe vera, fresh rose petals and more. I used this product last night and I found my face feeling very fresh and moisturised; I also found the product lightly exfoliates your skin when you are removing the product which is a total bonus! So far this product is great but I will be reviewing this in detail after a few more uses. This mask should only be applied once a week and left on for 5 - 10 minutes depending on how sensitive your skin is. This product cost £5.95

The next product I purchased was Grease Lightning spot treatment. I've heard so many things about this product and was eager to try it out for myself. This treatment claims to reduce spots and stop them from fully forming on the face. This can be used as many times as you like but I find it forms a shiny layer over the spots to I prefer to use this at night or if I'm not leaving the house. This product is full of natural antiseptic ingredients such as tea tree and witch hazel; there is also other ingredients to soothe the skin such as aloe vera, thyme, rosemary and other natural ingredients. I have only used this once and so far no results on the appearance on my spots but of course I do need to give this product time to prove itself. This product cost £5.95

My boyfriend also treated me to a Mac eye shadow which I am so grateful for! I've always wanted a purple, red eye shadow just to compliment my green eyes and make them stand out. I found the perfect colour and it's called Cranberry and it's a shimmery eye shadow and very pigmented! It's such an amazing colour!

My Wish List!

My Wish List!

Hey Guys!
So here's my wish list which consist of things I want or will eventually purchase.

We shall begin with black platform shoes. I love the idea of pairing cut out platform shoes with white frilly socks to give it that 90's edge. I really love these shoes and can pair them with nearly every outfit.

The next item is the 'This Works' Perfect look skin miracle cream. I've heard a lot about this product and how amazing it is so I am keen to try this out.

Next are two T-shirts that I've been eyeing up for ages. These aren't the exact T-shirts but they are very similar. I'm looking for a Joy Division tank top that's quite baggy but has a high neckline and same for the Nirvana T-shirt.

I am also wanting to purchase a sun necklace. I have finally found the perfect one which is in silver and is from the amazing jewellery shop 'DelilahDust'. I am also on the look out for a long wishbone necklace.

Almost done guys!
Next is the 'Real Techniques' core collection. These brushes are just a holy grail item for most bloggers and I am yet to experience the brilliance of these brushes. I do have the Expert Face Brush but I am very excited to use the contour brush.

AND FINALLY!

I am certainly wanting to have Jared Padalecki. I realise he's rather hard to get but I shall not rest until he decides that I am the one for him.

So that's all for today guys, hope you enjoyed

Gold Eye shadow and Winged Eyeliner Tutorial!

Hello!
I'm doing something a little different today so if you like this post please feel free to comment and I will certainly do many more for you. So my beautiful friend Elise agreed for me to do her makeup for my blog. So this look can be worn for prom or even everyday because it's so versatile.

So here's Elise all fresh faced! Now Elise has amazing skin so I wanted to ensure that I
enhanced her natural skin rather than hiding it. So I started off with using my Rimmel London's '25 Hour Lasting Finish' foundation. I only used a small amount of this just to even out her skin tone. I then applied Collections 'Lasting Perfection' concealer under the eyes and around the nose area. After that I applied Sleek's 'Face Form' bronzer and applied it to the points of the face where the sun naturally hits such as the forehead, nose, cheeks etc. I then added a touch of Mac's cream blush to the apples of Elise's cheeks and buffed it in with a blush brush. I then finished off the base by sweeping over a fine layer of Rimmel London's 'Clear Complexion' powder to set the base.

I used a dark brown eye shadow just to fill in Elise's eyebrows. Now time for the eyes! I started off by applying an eye primer. I'm not sure the name of my eye primer because the label wore away oops! but it does the job. I am using the MUA 'Undress Me Too' palette for this look. I started off by applying the gold eye shadow (left) all over the lid. I applied this generously but if you do want to create a stronger look this shadow is build-able or if you are looking for a softer look then simply pat on less. I then applied the bronze shadow (right) to the outer corners and crease of the eye. I applied this shadow in an angled V shape due to me adding liner afterwards so it gives me a faint outline of where the eyeliner should go. I again applied this generously but ensured that I blended the outer corners well so there are no harsh lines. I finally added a small amount of the gold under the eyes and a light shimmer eye shadow to the tear ducts of the eyes and under the brow.

I then applied my Collection 'Fast Stroke' eyeliner to the eyelids. I started off by creating the winged line then simply dragged the liner inwards until I was half way across Elise's eyelids.

Almost done! I then applied a small amount of Benefits 'They're Real' mascara to the upper and lower lashes. To finish the eyes off I applied the Katy Perry 'Sweetie Pie' lashes (this is optional depending on what occasion it is for) using tweezers. I find the Eylure lashes so easy to apply and they stay on all day! I then finished off with Topshop's 'Rumor Has It' Lipstick.

Done!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and let me know if you'd like to see more!
